Ideally we would be looking for candidates to come to the Swindon office once a week
Our client is a recognised global leader in Automotive Data Solutions, with a presence in 18 countries, serving five professional communities – insurance, finance, automotive aftermarket, construction, retail, and industrials. As part of their ambitious expansion, they are looking for an experienced Data Developer to join the team and elevate our operations to new levels of success.
As a valued member of our Data Product and Development Team, you’ll be part of an intimate team of six. Your workspace will foster innovation, efficiency, and collaboration, where you’ll primarily be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the core data products. Excitingly, you will have the opportunity to engage in a complete systems rebuild from scratch, offering a unique chance for you to contribute your innovative ideas and personal touch to our operational design.
This hybrid role allows for flexibility, requiring you to be in the office two days a week, with the remaining time dedicated to working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, optimise, and maintain databases and legacy systems.
- Test modifications to databases and resolve any issues.
- Collaborate with developers to enhance applications and establish best practices.
- Gather user requirements and identify new features.
- Develop technical and training manuals.
- Provide data management support to users.
- Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
- Participate actively in the system-wide rebuild from scratch.
Further, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the existing equipment data workflow and publishing process, developing and backing processes for outputting data, performing analytics, creating automated tests, providing internal technical support, and documenting all database processes.

What We’re Looking For:
The successful candidate should possess skills in
- Java,
- MySQL,
- XML,
- XSLT,
- and have experience with ASW and GIT. Knowledge in XQery, PHP, and DAX would be an added advantage.
