Lead Systems Analyst – Microsoft 365

£50,000 | Remote | Must be based in the UK

Have you led application discovery or dependency mapping on a complex migration?

Are you comfortable digging into Entra ID and sign-in logs to work out how applications connect and what could break when they move?

Would you like to lead a small team of analysts while staying hands-on with the technical work?

We’re recruiting for a growing Microsoft 365 consultancy that’s bringing its client’s European and Asia Pacific tenants into an existing North American tenant. What you uncover will help the programme team decide which applications move together, what needs fixing first and when the old tenants can be retired.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan and prioritise the analysts’ work and set the standard for how they capture and verify evidence.
  • Build an inventory of applications and map how they’re hosted, how users sign in, what they integrate with and where data flows.
  • Use evidence from Entra ID, sign-in logs, Intune and Exchange Online to fill gaps in the documentation. Run short, focused sessions with regional IT teams and third-party providers to check what you find.
  • Compare regional configurations with the destination tenant, identify potential conflicts and flag any data residency concerns for specialist review.
  • Turn your findings into dependency maps and impact assessments that the migration team can use to plan each wave and cutover.

What you’ll bring

  • At least five years’ experience as a Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or Application Architect.
  • Experience leading application discovery, portfolio rationalisation or dependency mapping on a merger, divestment, data centre or tenant migration.
  • Experience leading or coordinating a small analyst team and working with colleagues and suppliers across time zones.
  • Strong Microsoft Entra ID knowledge, including enterprise applications, app registrations, service principals, SSO and Conditional Access.
  • Experience with SaaS, on-premises and Azure-hosted applications, plus an understanding of identity federation, networking and Exchange Online mail flow.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for data extraction, advanced Excel and a diagramming tool such as Visio.
  • Clear spoken English and the ability to explain what the evidence shows, where the gaps are and what they mean for the migration.

Microsoft 365 or Entra ID tenant-to-tenant migration experience would be useful. We’re also keen to hear from people who’ve led comparable discovery work on other complex programmes.

You’ll have access to training and mentoring through the consultancy.

Interested? Apply with your CV. If you can, include a short example of a migration or discovery project you led and how your findings influenced the plan.
